Pelayo is a Spanish fashion designer, former student of London’s Central Saint Martins, and the face behind the fashion blog Katelovesme. He posts lots of pictures of himself. recently, he posted a shoot of himself called Sky Is The Limit, which featured photographs of himself inside the Holocaust memorial next to the Jewish Museum in Berlin. (Complete with fashion captions.)

His accompanying text goes like this: ” Hello from one of the top five most incredible places I’ve ever been. I wanted to visit The Memorial to
the Murdered Jews of Europe ever since it got inaugurated in 2005 and the wait was definitely worth
it. I can’t really describe how it feels to walk between concrete blocks trying to reach the sky but the good thing is that is that it doesn’t make you think about the past, only the future, and that’s something I love being involved with. “
Oh dear.
How to go about reacting to such twattery?
I’m not sure that it was intended to make “you think about the future,” as a memorial is usually created memory of … oh FFS, I can’t be bothered with that.
But I’m not so sure this guy was thinking at all:
If he was, something tells me that his thoughts were more likely to go along the lines of…”Squeee! What a cool backdrop for some shots of me, me, me, gorgeous me, in clothes. Plus fashion captions.”
It’s just this kind of stupidity and thoughtlessness, arrogance and narcissism that pervades the fashion industry.
From one little obscure fashion blogger to the Grandees perched at the top of the Fashion Totem.
Depressing.
But.
We do get just what we deserve.

Did you know that the company that made the anti-graffiti coating that the monoliths are coated with is the same company that manufactured Zyklon B? Every day is a school day.
There isn’t an emoticon to properly convey how deeply I am frowning.
This makes we want to sob.
